Assisi Gramashram

A plot of 10 acres of land at Narassimuku, Attappady has been purchased from the property of SFO of Thrissur Arch eparchy on 22nd of August 2005. It was bought in view of developing an inter-Franciscan centre with openness for a ministry to the tribals. The presence was started in 2006 informally by Br. Francis Edatukaran and followed by Br. Bju Panankulam. This was recognized as an Ashram, with the name “Assisi Gramashram ” by Mar Jacob Manathodath, the Bishop of Palakkad on 18th of August 2012, by a formal letter. In the year 2009 a small block with two living rooms was constructed. Later in 2012 the existing chapel and a dining room were renovated. The whole farmland was renovated by re-plantations and equipping it with sprinklers by Br. Antony Thaliath. The first formal fraternity with three members was started in 2017. As per the 06th recommendation of the Provincial Chapter of 2018, the house is open for prayer days of Friars. An existing hall was modified into a dormitory and it was blessed by Br Pauly Madassery, the Minister Provincial in June 2020.
