Shanti Niketan

Shanti Niketan is a new Centre initiated by the Eparchy of Kalyan in collaboration with St. Thomas the Apostle Capuchin Province, Kerala. This is a temporary presence and service of our Friars for three years, as per the agreement with the Eparchy and with St. Bonaventure Capuchin Province. The present residence was inaugurated and blessed on 16th June 2019 by Bishop Mar Thomas Elavanal, in the presence of Brs. Pauly Madassery, (Provincial Minister) and Joy Menachery (Vicar Provincial). The first members of this house were Brs. Anil Panamkoodan, Antony Thekkiniyath, and Alby Manappilliyan. The main ministry of the Centre is aimed at reaching out to the various needs of the migrant families in the metro city of Mumbai. St. Thomas Province is entrusted with the management of the Centre for counselling, retreat, and the responsibility of two parishes Badalapur and Ulhasnagar).
