Assisi Short Stay Home is one of the first short stay homes in Kerala for the people who are suffering from various addictions and mental health disorders. The institution is run by Franciscan Capuchin friars belonging to St. Thomas the Apostle province Kerala, India in collaboration with Secular Franciscan Order of Thrissur Arch-Diocese.

In ARC, we offer a short-stay rehabilitation facility, for patients who do not require hospitalization at the acute level of care, but are not yet fully recovered from addiction or mental health disorders. Patients and families often turn to these programs immediately following a brief hospital stay where they are detoxified or acute psychiatry emergency is settled. Our professional staff encourages continuing recovery and assists patients with returning to a more independent level of functioning.

Why Assisi short stay home?
Treatment of any mental illness particularly addictions include an acute phase management and a maintenance part. Both are very expensive when ordinary middle-class people are concerned. Here, we offer free accommodation and other services like Motivation enhancement Therapy, family counseling and spiritual counseling.

Here we provide the patients with various services like medical support (regular visit from psychiatrist), Therapy support (Motivation enhancement Therapy, Acceptance, and commitment Therapy), Counseling support (individual and family) and Psycho-educational and Psycho-social intervention.

Our mission is to provide the compassionate, integral, spiritual, and professional ambience for recovery and rehabilitation for persons suffering from addictions, substance use disorders other mental health disorders. Our vision is that, no one should be denied of opportunity to recover from addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders in want of money, so we offer our services free of cost. Through our programs, any motivated individuals can overcome their alcohol/drug dependencies and learn to manage their co-occurring disorders.
